A leading assessment services company, based in Surrey, is looking for and Business Development Manager to join its SME and Medium size company account management function.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role will hunt for new business, typically via warm leads and with customers who have either lapsed their accounts or made contact with the business. The role is establishing new opportunities to trade and developing those relationships through to creating new accounts for the business to manage.
Offering talent related services (always to HR Professionals as customers), the role will suit a sales professional who has a consultative style and a relationship driven approach to developing business. The product is relatively complex, and opportunities are realised through people gaining strong interest into the world of HR and working with their customers to understand their challenges and offer appropriate solutions. The role will use a variety of business development techniques - phone, social media, event attendance, networking etc to generate its own leads whilst also enjoying the support of a well developed CRM and marketing function.
To apply to this role, you should educated to degree level or equivalent (ideally, strong A levels would be considered) and you should have gained some experience in B2B sales. This experience should involve hunting for new business in an environment that delivers a complex solution, consultatively. It is preferred that you have had some exposure of selling products or services to HR professionals before but this is not essential.
The successful candidate will be inquisitive, a strong listener and highly organised. You will be commercially driven, displaying hunger and hunting characteristics. You should be a team player who is looking for a career, rather than a job.
