Talent Acquisition Specialist

You will project lead a two year recruitment and uplift plan to increase the number of police constables and fill long standing vacancies within the organisation.

Dealing with the attraction and sourcing of talent through effective recruitment and marketing strategies; implementing candidate attraction campaigns, using a variety of platforms as well as ensuring the force has the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.

Talent Acquisition Specialist Responsibilities:

Create and oversee the implementation and continuous evaluation of a talent attraction strategy, developing a strong brand reputation for volume and business as usual recruitment campaigns in order to continuously improve the organisation’s approach to talent attraction initiatives. Intial talent pools / recruitment priorities include:

- Police constables (uplift).
- Force Control room operatives.
- Special Constables.
- PCSOs.
- And ‘hard to recruit’ to roles.

- Lead on the co-ordination and development of a range of marketing materials and employer branding initiatives to promote the force as an employer of choice as part of the organisation’s wider talent management strategy.
- Pro-actively engage in consultation with Trade Unions, Staff Associations and staff networks of all recruitment related matters, looking to reach agreements that are mutually beneficial for all parties.
- Provide the business with management information, strategy based insights and key attraction metrics to help inform and update the organisation on the attraction of talent.
- Conduct research, provide, collate and analyse Management Information and prepare papers which detail findings and recommendations for consideration by Force Groups as appropriate.
- Optimise the use of the Force Career Pages and HR Website.

Talent Acquisition Specialist Requirements:

- Qualified to Degree level or equivalent with an ability to apply employment policies and best practice, especially in regard to regard to Equality and recruitment.
- Experience of providing recruitment advice and support to Managers in a highly pressurised, fast moving and high volume operational environment.
- Evidence of managing significant, high volume / profile attraction / recruitment campaigns, demonstrating an ability to successfully use a varied variety of selection tool
- Branding, marketing, media planning, social media and campaign management experience with knowledge of how marketing analytics inform the success / failure of advertised campaigns.
- Proven experience of managing a small team.
- Previous budgetary and resource management experience.
- High degree of computer literacy, including understanding and experience of recruitment systems, spreadsheets and databases, with the ability to analyse and interpret people metrics and data.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Conditions of Service:

The appointment will be full time or equivalent and subject to the conditions of service of the Police Staff Council and deployment practise within the department including flexible work patterns.

The annual leave entitlement is 24 days with an additional 5 days after 5 years continuous service.
