What sort of training will I gain?

Initially you will spend several weeks in a structured training programme alongside other fellow Trainees - taking what you have learned back to your team to put into practice. You will have a mentor working alongside you to help you to apply what you have learned in real time ensuring that you get the guidance you need as you learn how to become a great recruiter.

You will be learning how to work with clients to understand their business and culture, how to produce well written adverts to promote your roles, how to search the database to shortlist suitable candidates, how to engage candidates to assess their level of interest and relevance and how to then make a successful introduction back to your client. The more successful introductions you make the greater the commission you achieve when your candidates are hired.

Once you have completed your initial foundation training and you have started to manage your own area of the business you will gain a customised personal training and development plan that will support you throughout your career as you pursue excellence.

 

Wondering what you will be doing each day?

In the first weeks you will spend quite a lot of time training and seeing how to implement what you have learned, but this will rapidly develop into you managing your desk independently. Once that happens you can expect to be calling your clients, arranging meetings, brining back fresh jobs to the office and then working away via telephone and via marketing and social media to attract the best candidates.

You're going to be spending a lot of time on the phone talking to people or out at meetings with clients or candidates. Everything you do will be to facilitate successful introductions between clients and candidates.

 

What skills or experience do I need?

The great thing about recruitment is that attitude is valued more highly than skills. Yes hard work is essential here but some natural indicators that recruitment is right for you are that you enjoy speaking to new people, that you relish a challenge, that you like to compete and can take on board feedback in a positive way. 

This company believes in the power of the team and so invests in great social events, rewards, trips away and having lots of fun to balance the hard work - so you probably need to be someone that enjoys a lot of socialising!

You will also need to be educated to Degree level and have some previous experience in either recruitment, sales, customer service or telesales, which could be during study or full time.
