Job Description

I am working on behalf of around 100 clients in the UK who are seeking graduates who want to get into the recruitment sector. These clients are based in Birmingham. Many of these clients feature on the Times Top 100 graduate employers, and recruit into the following sectors: -

Finance/ IT/ Pharmaceutical/ Media/ Marketing/ Energy/ Sales/ Housing/ Construction/ Legal/ Education/ HR/ Healthcare

Recruitment in this instance, is not the same as HR. Recruitment is a sales role, where salary has a commission based element. The core competencies a successful recruitment must have include money motivation, tenacity, persuasiveness, confidence, resilience and an articulate phone manner.

As a recruitment consultant, priorities split into two main categories.

Firstly, business development involves cold calling, warm calling and visiting clients, pitching your services, negotiating rates of business and finding out what the client is after.

Secondly, candidate generation involves sourcing and screening candidates with the right skills to match the roles required by clients. This is done by posting ads such as this one on job boards, using 'linked in' as a headhunting tool and CV searching candidates.

The right candidate for this role will have the core competencies listed above, and a desire to be successful. They will also possess at least a 2:2 degree in any discipline. Telesales, B2B and B2C sales experience are highly valued but not essential.

Many people 'fall' into recruitment. If it is not something you have considered, but feel you can demonstrate the core competencies, and have strong leadership potential, then you should apply.
