Exsurgo was established in April 2009 in partnership with James Caan's private equity firm, Hamilton Bradshaw. The business has traded for little over 2.5yrs, in that time we have grown to 26 consultants, have been nominated for Best Retail Recruitment Firm' at the 2011 Recruiter Awards' & have undoubtedly established ourselves as a leading recruiter in our core markets of Retail & FMCG.

In 2011 Hamilton Bradshaw was named by Recruitment International' as the fastest growing recruitment group in the world, having grown a portfolio with a turnover approaching £500m in less than five years of trade. Last financial year, Exsurgo's lfl sales increased by nearly 300% - the most significant organic growth within the HB group. With year 3 sales already up 57% on year 2 & a number of experienced recruiters joining the business in the New Year, 2012 promises to be a very successful & significant time for the business.

 

2012 will also see the launch of our 2nd UK office & the rebranding of our International search business - both exciting & important events in our ambitious strategy for growth. Currently, we run teams within the following disciplines; 

  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Commercial (Retail, Leisure, Foodservice)
  • Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics
  • Engineering
  • Digital & ECommerce
  • International Search (consumer markets)

 

We are already a supplier to some of the highest profile names in Retail & FMCG (think Tesco, P&G, Mars, Unilever, Sainsburys) and have a huge opportunity to double the size of our business without moving outside of our current clients & disciplines. However, we aim higher than that & will be driving further growth by taking our functional expertise into markets outside of Retail & FMCG (such as TMT & Automotive) - therefore opportunity to be part of the story is huge, it also means that we keep a very open mind to the sector you are experienced in - if you are a talented recruiter with an understanding of any of our markets, we are very interested to hear from you.

 

Job Description

We expect our consultants to take full ownership of their business & run a genuine 360* desk - the success of our business is based on building long term relationships & making sure we deliver for our clients ahead of the competition. We expect you to be able to interact credibly & intelligently with senior figures within your market & have the ability to influence at all levels. The day to day of our consultant role is outlined below; 

  • Using sales, business development and marketing techniques in order to attract business from client companies;
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities within your market;
  • Building relationships with clients;
  • Developing a good understanding of what client companies do and their work culture;
  • Advertising vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing adverts using a wide range of media (e.g. Trade press, websites etc);
  • Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates;
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and short-listing candidates;
  • Checking references and suitability of applicants before referral to employers for interview;
  • Negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates;
  • Offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression; reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes.

2012 will see us make some senior hires into key areas of our business, we also have a need to recruit talented recruiters at consultant & senior consultant level across every team - therefore, and regardless of market experience, on the condition you are able to meet the below expectations we are very keen to hear from you;
