The client
The Consumer team of this specialist recruitment consultancy has been established for 5 years and specialises in sales and marketing recruitment within the non-food sector. They focus on key categories which include; Health and Beauty, Sportswear & Equipment, DIY and Consumer Electronics. They have experienced strong growth every year and have just restructured to facilitate the next phase of their growth plan. Their client portfolio includes a range of high profile, prestigious clients.

Currently the team is 12 strong and they have plans to expand this to 15 by early 2008. They require experienced consultants to take-over established regions and take them to the next level. Although they are established across the UK, consultants will be required to open new business and be prepared to travel across the UK a regular basis, however there is plenty of warm business too. These roles will work on appointments and place candidates on £35k to £65k salaries across various regions of the UK.

Job Specification

Financial
Regularly achieve targeted personal fees in the £35-65k consumer marketplace.
Assist the Consumer team in delivering its quarterly and annual budgets.
Minimise the number of back-outs and ensure fees are posted in a timely fashion.

Customer
Ensure sufficient levels of Business Development through structured activity
Build a comprehensive database of high quality, relevant sales and marketing candidates within the consumer sector.
Develop close relationships with your target clients and promote other services through cross-selling.
Maintain a high level of exclusive and retained work.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of all Consumer categories and the businesses within them.
Ensure a very high level of contact with all candidate registrations.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate is likely to:
Have experience in recruiting commercial roles on a retained (advertised and search) basis, have a strong sales background or be a trainee consultant of high potential.
Have a successful track record in account development and new business development.
Preferably have some direct knowledge of the Consumer marketplace but this is not essential.

Career Progression
Remuneration and reward will be based upon achieving both personal fees and balanced scorecard objectives.

The role provides an opportunity to join a rapidly expanding national team within the business, which will produce 4 future management positions and 4 consultant appointments. It is envisaged that the majority of theses appointments will come from within the team as it grows over the next 3 years.
